Welcome to Emmanuel Children's Trust

emmanuel children's trust

The Emmanuel Children’s Trust is a charitable organization established to look into the plight of the suffering children in Sierra Leone. The Trust secured its charitable status on Friday 10th October 2008.
It is established with the aim of providing street children the opportunity of becoming meaningful, productive and prospective in society. To actualize this aim, the Emmanuel Children’s Trust will be establishing a School and Library wherein street children, including orphans, disadvantaged, vulnerable, underprivileged and abused, can obtain education and counselling, in order for their human rights and prospective future to be preserved.

The proposed school is aimed at providing these vulnerable children a world of hope; a world of care and above all, a world of protection. The proposed school is aimed at ensuring that the lives of all children are free from all forms of abuse, including poverty, discrimination, child labour, child cruelty, injustice, prostitution, early and forced marriages, depression and other related forms of abuse.

The ECT believes that the defenceless, vulnerable, abandoned, disadvantaged and underprivileged street children deserve better than what they are experiencing presently. We are determined to support, defend, counsel, educate each and every child roaming the streets, as we are of the conviction that the future of every nation lies in the tender hands of its children. They are our future leaders, and there can surely be no future if these children are left to perish in the streets.

We believe in children, thus our predilection is to give them the future they deserve. Their tribe, nationality, age and sex are of no significance to the ECT. What is more of importance is that these street children are in dire need of preservers of their birth rights that have been abused, as they are entitled to love and care like any other children.

What we do

emmanuel children's trust

We educate children at preparatory and primary school levels. We equip them with skills so as to prepare them to become more productive and self-reliant citizens.

ECT intensifies efforts toward the promotion of unity, and the maintenance of a stable and peaceful society, where the childs right to play can be preserved.

We provide employment for disadvantaged people in the capital city of Freetown and it environment, particularly for those who were badly affected by the eleven years brutal war that ravaged the country. The resolve and commitment of members of the ECT will definitely result to yielding the aforementioned aims and objectives of the Trust. It will also significantly contribute to the promotion of greater self-reliance and towards the development of a sense of hope for the future generations.
